About the Horizon.JISC Project

Horizon.JISC was born from a series of discussions that stated in fall 2010 between members of the JISC Observatory project and the NMC. The project launched as a formal collaboration between the New Media Consortium's Horizon Project and the JISC Innovation Support Centres (CETIS and UKOLN) in April 2011, with the goal of using the Horizon Project process to inform a special UK-specific report on emerging technology in higher education that will be issued in fall 2011.

The project will apply the process developed for the New Media Consortium's Horizon Project with a particular focus on emerging technologies for higher education in the United Kingdom. Members of the UK higher education community are encouraged to follow the Advisory Board's progress as the discussion unfolds and to use the wiki as a resource and reference tool. It is the record of the processes used, materials referenced, research methods, and decisions that will be part of creating the Horizon.JISCl Report. It is meant to provide a deep resource of background discussion, secondary research, and other materials that will underpin the Report.

Any interested party is encouraged to participate in the Horizon.JISC Project by tagging resources in delicious.com, using the Project's tag hz11jisc.
